Women’s Focus
We pay special attention to the specific needs of our female clients and provide them with a safe and supportive community
Community against isolation
Women’s club
Our monthly women’s clubs provide a safe and supportive space where our older female clients can meet, share their experiences, and build meaningful connections. Many of them live in particularly difficult financial and social circumstances, often experiencing isolation and having very limited social networks. One of the main goals of the club is to reduce this isolation and create regular opportunities for community connection.
During the sessions, we cook together, watch films, do crafts, or engage in informal conversations about everyday life and bigger life questions.
It is important to us that participation is accessible to everyone, so when needed, we also help organise transportation to ensure that mobility challenges do not prevent anyone from joining.
The power of meaningful and supportive connections
Women’s group
Many of our female clients have experienced childhood trauma and/or domestic violence. Our women’s group was created with multiple goals in mind. On one hand, we aim to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where participants can share their challenges, support one another, express their needs and desires, and strengthen their self-esteem and ability to advocate for themselves. On the other hand, we aim to foster lasting peer relationships that extend beyond the group sessions and contribute to strengthening our clients’ social networks and reducing loneliness in the long term. During the group sessions, we provide childcare led by experienced and professionally trained facilitators. This offers a positive and developmental experience for the children, while also ensuring that having young children does not become a barrier to participation. This way, the group remains truly accessible and inclusive for everyone involved.
A day dedicated to self-worth and renewal
Women’s day
We aim to organise a women’s day each year, typically in the spring, where our female clients can step away from the burdens of everyday life and spend time together in a supportive and accepting environment. During the event, volunteer hairdressers and manicurists join us, offering care and attention to the participants. For many women, this is a rare opportunity, as their financial situation often leaves little room for this kind of self-care and relaxation in daily life. Women’s Day offers a chance to pause, recharge, and enjoy time together. Conversations, connection, and mutual attention all contribute to a sense of dignity and help participants return to their daily lives feeling renewed.
