Give a Job!
Because finding a job is easier in a community
Where employers and job seekers can connect
Give a Job!
The Give Work! program, now running for 9 years, is a community-based labour market reintegration initiative where we build trust on both the employee and employer sides and help them find each other. Within our inclusive community of peer supporters, we assist participants not only in finding jobs but also in maintaining them. Our weekly meetings provide a strong sense of stability for many participants — sometimes this is the only constant in their lives or the only community they belong to. The collaboration does not end once someone finds a job; many return to share their experiences, motivate others, or simply to stay connected and support the community.
Building skills for better employment opportunities
Give Work! Plus has launched
The Give Work! program has always been shaped and developed based on the needs of our target group, participants, and those interested in joining. Since October 2025, each group meeting is followed by a thematic session focusing on specific skills and knowledge areas, such as computer and smartphone use, IT security, using applications, CV writing, role-playing exercises, and job interview preparation. Sometimes these sessions are led by group members with relevant experience, while at other times they are facilitated by our staff or external experts.
Work as a pathway out of poverty
Why is this needed?
People living in poverty often work in casual jobs, which in most cases means undeclared employment. This makes them highly vulnerable: it is common that they do not receive even their already low agreed wages, work under unfair conditions, and lack health insurance. This type of work does not count towards official employment records or the required annual 30 days of registered work, which is often a condition for accessing social benefits. It also makes it more difficult to find legal employment, as they cannot prove their work experience.
